How to edit a running order?

I want to change the table number/amount/payment method or add items to a running order.

The staff can make some changes to an order after it has been created (for both POS and QR scanned orders) but before it has been marked as completed in the Order Dashboard such as

However, you cannot change settings like item price, order type (Dine-In, Delivery, or Takeaway), order instructions, or charges (SST, Service Charge, or Packaging charges) in a running order. These settings can be changed from their respective sections only before the order is created.

Change Table Number-

      For any reason, if the staff wants to change the table number for a dine-in order, he/she can do it right from the POS. 

      Step 1- Navigate to the order you want to edit. Click on the exchange arrows icon on the right. A dialog box will appear. 

                         

            Select the desired table number and click on the Transfer Table button below. And the table will be changed.        

                   


Change Payment Method-       

If an order has already been settled and for some reason, you require to change the payment method, you can do that from the Order Dashboard.  

      Step 1- Navigate to the order you want to edit. Click on the Change button in front of the payment method option. 

               

 You will be directed to the payments page-> Click on the Delete option to delete the previous transaction and select a new payment method to settle your bill. Click here to learn more about bill settlement.

          


Add Items to order-

If a customer places an order and decides to order more later, it won’t make sense to create two orders for the same. This is when staff is advised to use Add Item button in the order dashboard. 

      Step 1- Click on the Add Item button. POS menu will open on the screen.

                    

 

 

Select the items you want to add and create the order. The order will be updated with the new items. 


 

 

Void An Item

Similarly, the staff can also void an item(for reasons like the item/variant/add-on is out of stock) from the order. To do so, simply click on the minus icon in front of the item in the order dashboard.

A box will appear on the screen. Select the reason for removing the item and click on the Void button below and the item won’t appear on the final bill. It should be noted that if the bill has already been settled online, then the outlet will have to pay the customer from its end and Easyeat will transfer the same to them after deducting the charges.
