How to Add/Edit a section in POS?

I want to create a new section with a different set of tables/ I want to change a section’s name, add more rows or columns, add tables in bulk to a section.

This article contains two sections namely

  1. How to add a section in the POS of my outlet
  2. How to edit a section in the POS of my outlet

How to add a section in the POS of my outlet?



The owner can define different sections in the POS based on the table layout of his outlet. While creating a new order from the ‘Order Dashboard’, staff can choose the section and table number to be served. Tables can be switched from section to section from the ‘Tables’ option in ‘Sections & Printers’. Creating different sections is helpful when the outlet has multiple dine-in areas/floors.

This is how sections look like in POS - 

Ground Section and Delivery/Takeaway section will be added to the POS by default. 


Steps

     Step 1-  Login into your POS. 

     Step 2-  Navigate to the ‘Sections & Printers’ section from the side menu.

       


     Step 3-  Click on the ‘Add Section’ button on the top right corner of the screen.

        


    Step 4- A dialogue box will appear. Fill in the section name in the ‘Section Name’ tab. You can specify the number of rows and columns in the ‘Rows’ and ‘Columns’ tabs (reflected while setting the table layout). In the ‘Table Type’ tab, first, we need to mention the number of tables(to be added in the section) in the ‘Quantity’ box, then select the table shape from the dropdown in the ‘Shape’, box, and lastly assign the seating capacity of one table in the ‘Capacity’ box.                                                                         

     

                                                                               

        In case you want to add different table types (in terms of shape or capacity), click on the ‘Add More Table’ option below and repeat the steps. Once done, click on the ‘Save’ button in the bottom right and a section will be added.

        In the screenshot attached below, a section named Lawn with 10 rows and 8 columns has been added. Here, 20 circular tables with a seating capacity of 2 and 5 square tables with a seating capacity of 4 have been added.

       

             

       

And the section has been added to the POS.

How to edit a section in the POS of my outlet?



Steps

     Step 1-  Login into your POS. 

     Step 2-  Navigate to the ‘Sections & Printers’ section from the side menu.

       


     Step 3- To edit a section, click on the three dots in front of the section and select the 'Edit' option there. 

      






Here, we have added 10 rectangular tables with a seating capacity of 4. Details like section name, rows and columns, table shape, and capacity can also be edited in the POS.
