Please go through this article to understand the process to add service charges and packaging charges to the final bill.
I want to add Service Tax/ SST rates to my orders or I want to charge packaging fees from my customers for takeaway and delivery orders. Or How can I set SST/Packaging/Service Charge as a percentage value?
Step 1- Login into your POS.
Step 2- Navigate to the ‘Edit Restaurant Details’ section.
Step 3- Locate the ‘CHARGES’ section from the Title Bar. Click On the ‘Add New Charges’ Button in the right-hand corner. A Dialog box will appear.
Step 4- Select the charge type SST/Service Tax/Packaging Charge from the drop-down in the ‘CHARGE TYPE’ tab -> Charge’s name will be auto-filled based on your selection, which can be edited -> Enter the charge value in the ‘CHARGE VALUE’ type. While adding the packaging fee, you have the option to set it either as a flat charge (in RM) or a percentage charge(%). -> Select the order type from the drop-down menu in the ‘APPLIED TO ORDER TYPE’ type.
For Service charges & SST
For Packaging Charges
You also have the option to levy charges Order-wise or Category-wise, which you can select from the ‘APPLIED ON’ form. If the charges are to be applied to a specific category or subcategory you can map it down as seen in the screenshot below. Here we have added packaging charges to the Burger and Spaghetti categories.
Once done, click on the Save button below and the charges will be added.
Here’s how the charges will be reflected in the final bill.
On POS Order Dashboard
It is clear here that a packaging charge of RM 5 (flat value) will be levied on the order/category no matter what is the total price. On the other hand service charge of 5% (percentage value) will be charged on the order/category value.
